About me
I am Victor A. Portillo and I currently work as an Administrator for Instructional Services, ELA/ELD/DLI in the Riverside County Office of Education. Currently, I provide/create professional development, support, and resources to teachers, administrators, and other support staff in meeting the needs of English Learners and Multilingual students. I work with twenty-three school districts across the county! Additionally, I am an instructor at UCR Extension in the Bilingual Authorization Program (BILA). Previously I was a middle school vice principal and before that, I worked as a Program Specialist in the English Learner Programs Department coaching TK-8th grade teachers and administrators. I have also worked as a Program Facilitator at a mainstream site providing student intervention and ELD. Finally, I began my educational career teaching in grades 2nd-6th for nine years within the Alternative Bilingual Education and Dual Immersion Programs.
