Put those kids to work...with classroom jobs! In this session, participants will explore different kinds of classroom jobs, learn about their benefits, and collaborate on how and when to implement them. Participants of this interactive session will leave with a plan to implement jobs in their own classroom, as well as a toolkit to prepare them for potential challenges they may face.
How long does it take to achieve intermediate fluency in school? An ACTFL publication suggests that it takes 4 - 7 years. Amazingly, the majority of students taught with TPR Storytelling are achieving intermediate fluency in 60 hours. Our best students are intermediate speakers after just 30 hours. Come learn how the innovative ideas in this session can help your students get there too.
This session presents a practical framework for creating Diagnostic Assessment (DA) questions using the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines 2024 across Reading, Listening, and Speaking modalities. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to design DA questions targeting Global, Lexical, Structural, and Socio-cultural elements, tailored to diverse learner levels.
Learn breath-based meditation practices to help students center and ground themselves in order to take action in a globally connected world. Participants will understand the intersections between the Global Competence, SEL, DEI and CA WL Standards. Participants will gain skills for honoring linguistic and cultural heritage and prioritizing rest.
