This session explores how to engage students in the Spanish classroom to help them build communicative proficiency. Participants will take part in instructional strategies and practices that are at the heart many programs. Using creativity and collaboration, they will determine how to utilize these successfully in their own classrooms to motivate their students to communicate.
In this presentation, participants will gain an enhanced understanding of different types of questions that guide our instruction as world language teachers, such as unit essential questions, focus questions for lessons/activities and how to lead a discussion. They'll also examine different levels of rigor in questions and practice creating high-rigor questions.

Participate in an interactive session that highlights songs that showcase culture and all the tenses we teach. Let’s share the songs we use to enhance our upbeat classrooms while promoting cultural understanding for students.
