About me
Betsy Basom is the former National Networking Coordinator and current Southern California Representative for The National Network for Early Language Learning. Betsy is also the Executive Secretary and Awards Co-Chair for CLTA and Secretary for the Modern and Classical Language Association of Southern California. Betsy has been a language educator for over 30 years, teaching Spanish and French, among many other subjects, to grades preK-12 in both public and private schools. Betsy is in her thirteenth year of teaching Spanish for grades PreK-6 at Village School in Pacific Palisades, CA. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Antioch University, Los Angeles. Betsy has also worked several summers in New Hampshire and in Spain for the Rassias Language Programs Abroad for Dartmouth College and with FLS ELL summer camps at Cal State Northridge and Marymount CA University in Rancho Palos Verdes. Fun facts about Betsy: She was in the Dickinson College Improvisational Comedy Troupe, Run With It, and she loves making language learning fun for students by using her talents for improvisation and humor.
