EXHIBITOR SESSION: Studies show that a growth mindset in students leads to increased motivation and achievement. As a result of transparent and realistic goal setting, students are more likely to take the risks that are so vital to language acquisition. Participants will discuss and engage in practical ways to incorporate growth mindset in their classrooms. Growth mindset skills transcend content areas and elevate life and languages by carrying these skills beyond the classroom and into a dynamic and interconnected world.

Virtual Reality field trips enhance and transform the student-experience of cultural immersion. Using the Wander App with an Oculus headset, explore locations for your class, then develop a template for synchronous and asynchronous applications to existing modules to deepen engagement and discussions focused on intercultural competence based on the Peace Corps Worldwise handbook.

World Language teachers have the opportunity to use DEI to bring global connectedness to the world language classroom, while engaging in strategies that show how to use novels to introduce DEI from novice-mid to intermediate-mid levels. In this session, participants will reflect on their existing curriculum (units and themes) to brainstorm how and where to add DEI.
Have you ever wondered how to use TPR for more than just 10 minutes of class? In this interactive session you will learn and experience the many different ways to use TPR in an acquisition driven classroom and how to get your students excited about language learning from day one. Examples will be given in German, but strategies are applicable for all languages.
